HR Generalist - $70k-$80k - On-Site
About the role
The Human Resources Generalist is an exciting opportunity to lead all day-to-day HR activities across office and field operations. Key responsibilities include payroll, recruitment, onboarding, benefits management, compliance, employee relations, and offboarding. This role works closely with company leadership to drive employee engagement and support business growth, while also assisting with general administrative and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support employee relations initiatives, including conflict resolution and performance management.
- Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR systems efficiently.
- Aid in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with management to address workforce planning and organizational development needs.
- Process payroll and benefits administration in coordination with external providers.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR-related inquiries and best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, with the ability to balance both transactional HR responsibilities and strategic business partnership.
- Comfortable serving as a department of one, independently managing the full employee lifecycle while supporting leaders across the organization.
- Construction industry experience strongly preferred, with an understanding of the unique challenges associated with field-based workforces.
- Experience with union environments, union payroll, and/or prevailing wage requirements highly preferred.
- Proven ability to implement new programs, processes, or HR initiatives from the ground up.
- Hands-on, proactive, and willing to roll up their sleeves to support both day-to-day operations and long-term business objectives.
Qualifications
Prior experience processing union payroll and/or knowledge of prevailing wage requirements is strongly preferred.
