About the role
The Recruiting Coordinator assists with the hourly recruiting process from screening candidates through the job offer stage and ensures pre-employment tasks—such as hourly new hire data entry, rehire-status validation, job previews, and paperwork completion—are complete. This role implements staffing strategies to attract qualified candidates and establish Wayne-Sanderson Farms as an employer of choice in the poultry industry.
Responsibilities
- Manage applicant tracking within the Workday ATS system; review applicant records, disposition candidates promptly, and follow up on unresolved statuses to maintain accurate records.
- Represent the company at recruiting events (job fairs, open houses, etc.) to build relationships within the community, schools, and local agencies while promoting the company brand.
- Coordinate the recruiting process, including screening candidates, scheduling and participating in interviews with production, feed mill, or hatchery leadership, and recommending the best candidate for openings.
- Partner with the Senior Field Recruiter/Field Recruiter to understand position requirements and ensure qualified candidates are selected.
- Collaborate with HR Leadership on the job bid process, interview candidates, and create/present offer letters.
- Verify rehire status at the time of application using Workday and other historical databases; merge records if needed.
- Partner with HR staff to schedule new hires for orientation, paperwork completion, job previews, and other onboarding tasks to ensure a positive new hire experience.
- Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
- Follow and ensure others follow departmental and company safety policies and programs; wear required protective equipment in designated areas.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated relevant clerical experience; human resources field experience strongly preferred.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in multiple Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.); knowledge/experience with Workday or similar HCM systems preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) with internal and external customers in a timely, professional manner; multilingual ability preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including tact, discretion, and a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Self-starter with strong initiative, sense of urgency, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Willingness to work non-standard hours (e.g., holidays, weekends, and/or extended shifts) as required by business needs.
