HR's vision is to empower people to drive a culture of innovation, learning, and service that enables the success of individuals within the UCI community and those who aspire to join. https://hr.uci.edu/ Your Role on the Team The HR Coordinator is responsible for supporting and implementing Human Resources strategies, programs, processes and policies within UCI Health Affairs. Supports the HR Business Partner model by responding to routine HR problems and issues and assisting with the implementation of Human Resources strategies, programs, processes and policies among client departments within UCI Health Affairs. Performs a variety of routine HR transactions. Responsibilities include the following functional areas: employee relations, labor relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, talent acquisition, compensation, employment law, compliance, benefits and disability. Applies professional human resources, organization policies and procedures to provide guidance to supervisors and managers to resolve a variety of human resources issues of moderate scope and complexity. What It Takes To Be Successful Required:Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; demonstrates organizational skills and problem-solving skills. Has working knowledge of other areas of HR.Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and knowledge of functional area.Basic knowledge of human resources policies and programs, and how they affect other organizational policies and procedures.Knowledge of a human resources management system (HRMS), and / or other related business software programs and systems.Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing and in integrating information in the completion of assignments.Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively.Demonstrated skill in partnering with management and employees in areas of conflict resolution, employee relations, change management, and performance management.Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / trainingRequired: 2+ years of experience working in a Human Resources role (generalist, recruitment, benefits, etc.) that requires client related interactions with employees and/or leaders (i.e., policy interpretation, complaint resolution, process training, performance coaching / feedback, etc.)Demonstrated analytical, active listening, and critical thinking skills.Experience in a unionized environment.Experience working in a complex organization, preferably an academic health organization.Experience supporting an array of engagement and wellness solutions and initiatives and ability to influence and drive change with leadership and stakeholders.Prior experience as an HR GeneralistThis position may be required to report at different work sites including Irvine, Orange, and other locations. The incumbent must be able to provide their own means of transportation to/from work locations.
