HR Coordinator
About the role
We're looking for an HR Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being at the center of all things HR. In this role, you'll help drive key people processes, support employees throughout their journey, and play an important part in building a positive, high-performing workplace culture. This role combines administrative excellence with employee-focused service, providing support across recruitment, onboarding, records management, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to delivering an outstanding experience for employees and leaders alike. This role sits onsite at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and may require occasional travel throughout North Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement internal HR processes and procedures within ARAMARK guidelines.
- Assist managers with routine HR matters including payroll, benefits, and record keeping.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Develop and advise innovative employee motivation and morale programs.
- Listen to employee concerns and demonstrate outstanding analytical problem-solving, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Handle day-to-day HR functions including recruiting, staffing, hiring, training, coaching, and administrative tasks.
- Notify department managers of employees missed punches and/or errors.
- Follow ARAMARK policies and procedures and safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- May be required to work occasional nights, weekends as business needs arise.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager.
Requirements
- 2-5 years in an office setting with administrative functions; HR experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Computer/tech literacy required.
- Must be able to create, plan, and manage creative HR strategies.
- Knowledge of EEO laws and general HR policies.
- Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and willingness to help are required.
- Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Qualifications
- This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing.
- This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
