Job Summary The HR Compensation Specialist is responsible for supporting the administration of a competitive and equitable compensation program that align with the company’s strategic objectives as well as complies with legal standards, maintaining compensation data integrity, assisting with market benchmarking, and ensuring accurate compensation-related records within HRIS and payroll systems. This role partners closely with Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, and Operations to support competitive, equitable, and compliant compensation practices across office, field, union, and executive positions. SALARY RANGE: $33.65hr - $40.87hr, $70,000 - $85,000 annually (companywide) Benefits Group medical, vision and dental insurance including choice of two benefit plans – a PPO plan and a high deductible / Health Saving Account Plan with company contribution to HSA.Company-paid Short- & Long-Term Disability plans, group Life Insurance, and AD&D plansFlexible Spending Account (FSA) plans (for health care and dependent care)Vacation accrued on a weekly basis at a full-time annualized equivalent rate of 15 days (3 work weeks) per year.Sick Leave accrued at 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a carryover of 80 hours10 paid Holidays each yearPaid Parental LeaveAnnual Discretionary Bonus based on company profitability and your manager’s assessment of your performance. A 401(k) savings plan under which BNB matches the first three percent of your deferral with a 100% match and the next two percent with a 50% match for a total matching contribution of 4% of your pay. You are immediately 100% vested in all contributions (including BNB match). We provide both traditional (Pre-Tax) and Roth (post –tax) contribution options in our 401(k) plan.We’re also proud to be an employee-owned company. This means you get an ownership stake in BNB through a benefit called an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). It’s 100% company funded and is invested in BNBuilders stock. You can participate in this long-term plan after you complete 1 year of service (with at least 1,000 hours). Job Responsibilities Compensation Administration Maintain job classifications, pay structures, salary ranges, and compensation records within HRIS systems. Assist in conducting market pricing and salary benchmarking using industry survey data and compensation resources to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.Support annual compensation planning activities, including merit increase cycles, promotions, transfers, and market adjustments. Prepare compensation analyses and reports for Sr. HR Manager, Total Rewards and leadership. Participate in job evaluation processes by gathering position information, reviewing job descriptions, and assisting with compensation recommendations. Maintain compensation documentation and ensure compliance with established compensation policies and procedures. Support the review and processing of pay rate changes, promotions, bonuses, and other compensation-related transactions. Reporting and Analytics Prepare and generate regular compensation reports, dashboards to show turnover and workforce metrics, salary analyses, and workforce planning data. Assist with pay equity reviews and compensation trend analysis. Provide compensation-related data and reporting support for budgeting and workforce planning activities. Work with the Sr. HR Manager, Total Rewards to analyze compensation data and identify trends, anomalies, or opportunities for improvement. Additional Responsibilities Participate in HR projects, process improvement initiatives, and system implementations. Maintain confidentiality of employee compensation information.Perform other related duties as assigned in support of business needs and the essential functions of the role. Qualifications Bachelor's or Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred. Three to five years of compensation, HR, payroll, finance or related experience. Construction industry experience preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. MS Office, Excel including pivot tables and Vlookups.Experience with HRIS and payroll systems. Understanding of compensation principles, market pricing, and salary administration. Familiarity with wage-and-hour laws, FLSA requirements, and compensation compliance practices. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
