Responsibilities
- Facilitates and performs administrative duties including payroll, records maintenance, employee onboarding, employee off-boarding, leave administration, employee engagement, and other relevant areas in support of the division.
- Serves as a point of contact for employee relations matters and assists with gathering information for investigations as well as responding to HR related inquiries and requests for assistance.
- Process new hires and compensation related forms such as add-pay, salary changes, reimbursements, etc.
- Utilize HRIS to monitor and administer employee leave, time and attendance, payroll, and records maintenance.
- Affords assistance with the processing of both voluntary and involuntary employee separations and subsequent exit interviews as needed.
- Initiates division-wide FMLA, OJI, and drug testing process to maintain consistency of documentations and communications.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge of legal and industry compliance, by attending HR related seminars, conferences, reviewing publications, and participating in professional associations.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with employees, HR staff, division management, union stewards, and business and city representatives.
- Exercises tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality in dealing with sensitive and complex issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or Public Administration or a related field and three (3) years of professional experience in Human Resources; or any comparable combination of experience and training which enables on to perform the essential job functions.
- Working experience using Microsoft Office applications and Oracle are required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment.
