HR and Labor Relations Generalist

Responsibilities
- Support both employees and management while helping shape workforce strategies and maintaining positive labor relations.
- Partner with site leadership on workforce planning, recruiting, retention, and succession planning initiatives.
- Lead employee and labor relations activities and serve as the primary liaison with union leadership.
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters, investigations, accommodations, corrective actions, and terminations.
- Manage day-to-day labor relations processes, including grievances, job bidding, and collective bargaining agreement administration.
- Participate in labor contract negotiations and proposal development.
- Lead employee engagement, recognition, and development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, company policies, and Affirmative Action requirements.
- Represent Sun Chemical within the local community through participation in business and charitable organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of HR management experience.
- 2 years of HR experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification (preferred).
- Master's degree in HR or Labor Relations (preferred).
- Experience with HRIS systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle, or iCIMS (preferred).
- Experience in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives (preferred).

- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
