Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Study at University of Chicago is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee and mentor the Housekeeping team. This role ensures a comfortable and clean guest experience while adhering to Study brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise room attendants' boards and inspect all public areas
• Manage the in-house laundry team and maintain proper inventory levels
• Respond to guest inquiries and clean guest rooms as needed
• Inspect all areas daily, maintaining high standards of quality
• Serve as a mentor and engage all housekeeping team members
• Create and support a positive working environment
• Implement cleaning and preventative maintenance programs
• Train and develop staff for a thoughtful guest experience
• Review department schedules and address guest concerns
• Resolve complaints and assist with departmental needs
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• Two (2) or more years of housekeeping experience in a full-service hotel
• Currently employed in a hospitality role with industry experience preferred
• Positive communication and interpersonal skills
• Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
• Must be at least 18 years old

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor
• Proficiency in English
