About the role
The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms and ensures high standards are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Prepares daily guestroom assignment for room attendants
- Assists housekeeping and laundry staff in securing supplies and tools
- Maintains purchase order book and checkbook, and completes a monthly purchase report
- Performs beginning and end of month inventory of guest supplies and linen
- Prepares daily guestroom reports and trace reports
- Performs daily walk-through of public areas
- Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, and terminates personnel
- Maintains a high standard of excellence
- Maintains safety awareness
- Reports all potential safety hazards immediately
- Maintains appearance of exterior and interior of building
- Conducts timely and accurate performance reviews with staff
- Assigns staff duties and inspects work for conformance to standards
- Maintains proper inventory levels
- Ensures supplies and equipment are issued to staff
- Investigates complaints and takes corrective action
- Schedules housekeeping staff
- Performs Laundry and Room Attendant duties as needed
- Maintains and organizes lost and found
- Communicates effectively with front desk and housekeeping
- Inspects linen rooms and room attendant carts
- Prepares work orders for problems
- Performs opening and closing duties
- Represents the hotel positively
- Greet guests
Qualifications
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to stand and/or walk for entire shift
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to read and follow both verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of chemicals and operation of industrial machines
