Responsibilities
- Keeps Director informed of issues or problems impacting program efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Attracts, develops, and trains talent to ensure program quality, sustainability, long-term growth, and development.
- Leads by demonstrating an understanding of, and exemplifying the mission, vision, and values of HonorHealth for the oversight and coordination of the day-to-day operations.
- Ensures all aspects of departmental operations function in a compliant, optimal and efficient manner that ensures patient and customer satisfaction.
- Acts as liaison to departments and areas to ensure expedient response to patient and customer concerns.
- Makes daily rounds to inspect environmental cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
- Schedules staff and ensures proper coverage and cross-training.
- Aids in determining the necessary tools for the team to perform at satisfactory level.
- Communicates with team members regularly both formally and informally, holds team meetings weekly and may hold pre-service meetings daily.
- May settle employee problems and administer appropriate disciplinary action.
- Processes and monitors production staff time cards for end of the pay period reporting.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations for environmental hygiene maintenance for new floor coverings, wall coverings, furnishings, and interior finishes prior to purchase.
- Manages departmental budgets (e.g., capital, projects, supplies, operations).
- Ensures regulated medical waste is handled, packaged, stored, and disposed of in accordance with federal and state regulations, and appropriate documentation is maintained.
- Manages the necessary and required resources for the environmental services department and provides recommendations for staffing levels, products, and equipment.
- Completes all human resources responsibilities for interviewing, hiring, managing, staff development, corrective actions and/or staff engagement needs.
- Manages all quality improvement initiatives regarding training, auditing, inspecting, rounding, and making recommendations as needed.
- Collaborates with the EVS director to establish dashboard metrics to track operations and improvement initiatives.
- Promotes a culture of safety, hand hygiene, patient experience, as well as employee engagement and retention.
- Coordinates scheduling and oversees subcontractors and vendors.
- Supervises and/or performs on-call emergency services when needed.
- Composes general and technical reports.
- Establishes self as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within environmental services, regulatory compliance, and training.
- Effectively employs computer programs and mobile devices evidenced by proper log ins, using applicable hardware or software, attaching files, composing appropriate email messages, and appropriately using internet browsers or sites.
- Takes a customer-centered approach when addressing the needs of and interacting with patients, visitors, guests, team members and other health care workers.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in related field - Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' work related experience - Required
- 3 years with leadership experience in hospital EVS service operations management - Required
- 5 years Computer Operation and Data Base systems
- Bilingual - Preferred
Qualifications
- Driver License - Required
