About the role
The Housekeeping Manager at Fairmont Orchid is responsible for ensuring the luxury standards of Housekeeping are met and exceeded. This position requires previous leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Uphold brand (LQA) standards of the department.
- Review LQA audits to identify areas of improvement and implement initiatives to improve service.
- Manage all housekeeping colleagues, including interviewing, retention, training, coaching, and discipline.
- Maintain colleague performance logs and escalate concerns to ADOH.
- Conduct continuous inspections of all areas to ensure quality standards are met and SOPs are followed.
- Auxiliary in maximizing hotel profitability by property managing expenses, labor, and other resources.
- Auxiliary in the administrative and management of the Housekeeping operation, including payroll, scheduling, and other duties.
- Own all guest complaints at the highest level and follow through to ensure complete satisfaction.
- Guarantee 100% quality of all VIP and Site Visit rooms.
- Involvement in special projects.
- Assist the Director of Housekeeping and Assistant Director of Housekeeping in the absence of the Assistant Director of Housekeeping.
Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience, required.
- Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders.
- Belief in a strong team culture and sets the scene for high performance.
- Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English language.
- Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages will be an advantage (‘Olelo Hawai’i/Ilocano/Tagalog).
- Detailed & service oriented with an eye for detail to be self-motivated and energetic.
- Recognized commitment to cleanliness and exceeding guest expectations.
- Self-motivation and organizational skills with the initiative and ability to complete projects in a timely manner and proven ability to work under pressure.
- An operational knowledge and proficiency in Property Management System (Opera) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Additional Information
Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 USD
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.
