Housekeeping/EVS Tech - Evenings - San Diego

About the role

Scripps Mercy Hospital, founded in 1890, serves central and downtown San Diego. Its San Diego campus is located at 5th Avenue and Washington Street in Hillcrest. The hospital comprises two campuses in San Diego and Chula Vista, featuring facilities like the O’Toole Breast Care Center, a 24-hour trauma center, outpatient rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery, and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit.

Responsibilities

• Supports environmental care by performing tasks such as patient care area cleaning, non-patient care area cleaning, linen service, waste removal, sharps container removal, meeting/event set-up/breakdown, and infection control/sanitation.
• Works an evening shift including 2:00pm-10:30pm and a varied schedule including weekends.
• Ensures compliance with Joint Commission, Title XXII, and other regulatory requirements.
• Adheres to established policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Displays and practices a work style that aligns with the hospital's mission, philosophy, and goals.

Requirements

• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Preferred: 6 months of housekeeping experience in healthcare or hospitality.
• Extensive customer service experience and a strong desire to provide high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California Driver’s License.

Skills

• Technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
• Compliance with Joint Commission, Title XXII, and other regulatory requirements.

Pay

The position pays $25.00-$29.29 per hour.
