About the role
Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas seeks a full-time Housekeeping Team Member to support environmental care. The position involves cleaning patient care areas, non-patient care areas, providing linen service, waste removal, sharps container removal, meeting/event set-up/breakdown, and infection control/sanitation.
Responsibilities
- Supports environmental care by performing tasks such as cleaning patient care areas, non-patient care areas, providing linen service, waste removal, sharps container removal, meeting/event set-up/breakdown, and infection control/sanitation.
- Fulfills regulatory requirements by following established policies and practices to ensure compliance with the Joint Commission, Title XXII, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Works collaboratively with a supervisor to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
- Adheres to organizational mission, philosophy, and goals by demonstrating a positive work style and commitment to patient care.
Requirements
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Preferred qualifications include 6 months of Housekeeping experience in Health Care or Hospitality.
- Extensive customer service experience and a strong desire to provide high-quality service.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Current CPR certification.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay
The position pays $25.00-$29.29 per hour.
