About the role
Summit Square Retirement Community is seeking a compassionate and dependable Housekeeper to work primarily within our Memory Support neighborhood. In this role, you'll help create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents while working alongside a team dedicated to providing exceptional care and service.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain resident apartments, common areas, hallways, and other assigned spaces.
- Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and sanitize surfaces to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Clean and disinfect resident bathrooms and restock supplies as needed.
- Made beds and ensure resident rooms are neat, comfortable, and welcoming.
- Remove trash and maintain cleanliness throughout assigned work areas.
- Clean stairways, entrances, elevators, handrails, light fixtures, and other high-touch surfaces.
- Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and supplies in an organized and ready-to-use condition.
- Report maintenance concerns and safety issues promptly.
- Follow established cleaning procedures, infection control practices, and safety guidelines.
- Provide friendly, respectful customer service to residents, families, visitors, and team members.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous housekeeping, environmental services, hospitality, or cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Valid Virginia driver's license and ability to meet driving eligibility requirements preferred.
Qualifications
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Team members must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally more than 40 pounds.
- Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to cleaning products and potentially infectious materials while following established safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
Skills
