Activity Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and engaging Activity Assistant to join our Memory Care team. You will play a vital role in creating a fulfilling and meaningful experience for our residents with Alzheimer's disease and other memory impairments.

Responsibilities

  • Cook up and implement activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being for our Memory Care residents
  • Assess resident interests and abilities to develop tailored activity programs
  • Lead and facilitate group activities, including arts, crafts, music, and recreation
  • Encourage and support resident participation, ensuring inclusivity and engagement
  • Maintain accurate records of resident activities and progress
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic care and support
  • Participate in resident assessments and care planning meetings
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe activity area

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a long-term care or senior living setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with seniors with dementia and other cognitive impairments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
