About the role

Serves as a resource person to staff, both clinically and administratively. Serves as the off shift representative of management: that represents and supports management, supervises staff and makes administrative decisions which may involve patients and their families and KRMC staff.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a global perspective as a basis for decision making.
  • Captures and coordinates utilization of resources including staff and equipment.
  • Enhances quality of care by acting as consultant and mentor for the patient at the bedside.
  • Provides feedback to appropriate management regarding staff and clinical situations as necessary.
  • Promotes staff empowerment by contributing to an environment that fosters staff growth and development.
  • Becomes trained in ultrasound-guided IV placement.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN or current enrollment in BSN program preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Nebraska.
  • Current ACLS and BCLS certification.
  • PALS certification within 1 year of employment.
  • At least two (2) years of charge nurse experience preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in critical care nursing preferred.
