About the role
Serves as a resource person to staff, both clinically and administratively. Serves as the off shift representative of management: that represents and supports management, supervises staff and makes administrative decisions which may involve patients and their families and KRMC staff.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a global perspective as a basis for decision making.
- Captures and coordinates utilization of resources including staff and equipment.
- Enhances quality of care by acting as consultant and mentor for the patient at the bedside.
- Provides feedback to appropriate management regarding staff and clinical situations as necessary.
- Promotes staff empowerment by contributing to an environment that fosters staff growth and development.
- Becomes trained in ultrasound-guided IV placement.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- BSN or current enrollment in BSN program preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Nebraska.
- Current ACLS and BCLS certification.
- PALS certification within 1 year of employment.
- At least two (2) years of charge nurse experience preferred.
- At least two (2) years of experience in critical care nursing preferred.
