Hourly Motor Vehicle Operator (Creedmoor ATC)
About the Role
All Hourly positions with the NYS Office of Addiction Services & Supports (OASAS) are utilized on an “as needed” basis, with no guarantee of work hours or a set schedule.
Responsibilities
- Drive a variety of motor vehicles both on and off State property to transport people, material, and equipment, and plow snow from roadways and parking lots.
- Map routes, itineraries, and points of call.
- Move or carry cargo onto, into, off of, or out of the vehicle operated, and from the vehicle to the delivery or storage point.
- Post manifests, inventories, and other records of goods and people transported.
- Perform routine maintenance of vehicles to ensure cargo is moved as required, including changing oil and spark plugs, changing tires, washing vehicles, pumping gas, adding water to the radiator, oil to the crankcase, and air to the tires, and replacing lamp bulbs.
- Operate and maintain motorized equipment in support of maintenance, grounds, or building trades crews.
Requirements
- Possess a New York State Driver’s License appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
- May be required to possess a CDL Class A, B, C, or General Class D license.
Background Investigation Requirements
- Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable.
- Investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC) that includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks. All convictions must be reported; conviction of a felony or misdemeanor, or any falsified or omitted information on the employment application may bar appointment or result in removal after appointment. Each case will be determined on its own merits, consistent with applicable provisions of State and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Prospective employees will be fingerprinted and may be required to pay any necessary fees.
- Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees may be required to pay any necessary fees. Those whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.
