Summary of Job Duties
The Bus Operator will drive a transit bus on campus and city streets to safely transport members of the campus community and the general public on fixed scheduled bus routes. This position will perform a prescribed pre-operational safety maintenance check, as well as accumulate and record statistics for daily reports on fixed route service. Other duties as assigned.
Regular, non-disruptive, and reliable attendance is an essential job duty, as well as the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Razorback Transit Offers
- Paid CDL training to help you obtain the required Commercial Driver’s License for this position
- The cost of testing materials is reimbursed upon the successful completion of the written and skills test for the CDL license
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass DOT physical examination and obtain a DOT medical examiners certificate
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
- Age 18 or older
- A valid Driver’s License in good standing
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL Class B or higher with Passenger Endorsement
- Experience operating a large 35 and 40-foot transit vehicle on city streets in fixed route service
- Knowledge of DOT/CDL regulations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work with and learn technology
- Ability to succeed in a diverse working environment
- Ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally
Additional Information
- Razorback Transit provides paid CDL training to obtain the required Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for this position

Salary Information
- Operator in Training: $20/per hour
- 750 hours of experience: $22/per hour
- 751-1500 hours of experience: $23/per hour
- 1501-2500 hours of experience: $24/per hour
- 2501 hours of experience: $25/per hour
