Hourly Dental Hygienist (PHCW)

Job Responsibilities

• Cleans teeth
• Examines head, neck, and oral areas for signs of oral disease
• May educate clients on oral hygiene
• Takes and develops X-rays
• Applies fluoride or sealants
• Serves as a lead worker
• Charts conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis by the doctor
• Checks lymph nodes under chin and neck to detect swelling or tenderness
• Cleans calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of the gums
• Exposes and develops radiographs
• Feels and visually examines for gingiva using probes to locate sores, periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease
• Makes impressions for sturdy models
• Provides clinical services and health education to clients and or staff
• Removes excess cement from coronal surfaces of teeth
• May train subordinate staff in proper procedures of day-to-day operations

Minimum Qualifications

• Achieved an associate's degree in dental hygiene from an accredited college or university
• A current Georgia dental hygienist license
• Two (2) years of job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Familiar with Phosphor Plate Digital Radiographs
