Hotel Queen Mary - Accounting Clerk
About the role
This position functions as a dual-support role within the Accounting Department, providing cross-coverage across multiple accounting functions based on operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently steer accounts payable and receivable, making sure invoices and deposits dock right on schedule.
- Set sail by phoning new and outstanding accounts to keep our AR Aging line shipshape and within corporate standards.
- Be the ultimate sidekick to our Property Accountant—jumping in to help with human resources, payroll, and any other tasks that keep the business humming along!
- Connect with guests and teammates in a friendly, service-first way, and join our credit huddles to talk through account statuses and next steps.
- Keep our filing systems for direct billing neat as a pin, and help make sure every account is handled with spot-on accuracy.
- Protect and manage confidential information with the utmost integrity, ensuring proprietary and trade secrets stay safe and sound.
Requirements
We are seeking candidates who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume hotel environment, ideally with experience supporting multiple Food & Beverage outlets, banquets, or high-transaction revenue streams. Prior Night Audit experience is strongly preferred due to the operational nature of this role. Preferred systems exposure includes: Opera Cloud Oracle MICROS Simphony A3 Financial Systems FareHarbor Square POS.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in a related field is helpful. Experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and a high level of attention to detail. This role requires someone who is comfortable investigating discrepancies, identifying trends or irregularities, and proactively asking questions to ensure financial accuracy.

Schedule
The schedule will typically include approximately three (3) days dedicated to Income Audit responsibilities and two (2) days supporting General Cashiering, with additional time assisting Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other accounting projects as assigned. Because of operational coverage requirements, weekend availability is required.
