Job Overview

The Hotel Human Resources Manager oversees the daily operation of the Human Resources office. Responsible for areas of recruiting, employee relations, benefits, events, workers compensation and other employee-related tasks. This role is a one person office and has a direct reporting line to corporate Human Resources with a dotted line to the hotel General Manager.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Ensure property hiring practices comply with I-9, ADA, and EEO requirements and strive for a culturally diverse workplace.
  • Operate and manage the hotel HR systems: payroll, background checks, benefits administration, etc.
  • Receive hiring recommendations from team supervisors.
  • Participate in staff interviews with GM and/or department head.
  • Interview and assess job candidates.
  • Onboard new hires by processing new hire enrollment in UKG, I-9, and orientation.
  • Oversee employee attendance and working schedules, including paid time off, overtime and breaks.
  • Work in tandem with the Director of Employee Relations to manage employee grievances and the employee disciplinary process.
  • Absorb the execution of all company culture programs.
  • Act as the point of contact when employees have queries or job-related issues.
  • Ensure hotel staff complies with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of all department policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and enforce all policies fairly and consistently with staff.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Attend all training/meetings as required by management.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma/GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of Human Resources experience in a hotel highly preferred.
  • Human Resources certification highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS systems required.
