Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare food by pre-described cooking methods and receipes.
  • Follow and enforce proper food temperature guidelines.
  • Follow established FIFO practices.
  • Follow and enforce established food sanitary requirements and safety precautions and procedures.
  • Maintains order and cleaniness of kiten and store room areas.
  • Provides direction and leadership to associated in the kitchen department.
  • Schedule associate's in accordance with forecasted occupancy, adjusts staffing as necessary for sudden changes in business levels.
  • Prepare or assist in preparing vendor orders.
  • Aid in inventory, purchasing, disbursement and cost control for all kitchen items.
  • Promote and engage in positive vendor relations.
  • Manage the human resources function of all areas of the kitchen in order to attract, retain and motivate associates, hire, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct preformance reviews, resolve problems, and provide open communication for all associates.
  • Follows established safety procedures, use of personal protective equipment and sharp policies.
  • Responds to all guest requests and complaints and follows up to ensure guest satisication.
  • Maintains a clean, pleasant, and professional image to guests and employees.
  • Complies will all hotel policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Education / Experience: High school diploma or general degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous cooking experience required.
  • Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, recipes.
  • Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Computer Skills: Minimal computer experience is a plus.
