Host an International High School Exchange Student (Tuscaloosa, AL)

About the role

SHARE! Your Heart & Home with a high school exchange student. Host families and adults are needed to host exchange students for a school year or semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and welcoming environment for the exchange student
• Help the student adjust to life in a new country and culture
• Attend the student's local high school classes
• Support the student with daily activities such as meals, homework, and extracurricular activities
• Ensure the student has access to medical care if needed
• Encourage the student to participate in community events and activities

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Willingness to commit to hosting for a school year or semester
• Ability to provide a stable living situation with a private bedroom
• Knowledge of English and willingness to assist with language support
• Availability to host the student during regular school hours
• Willingness to provide transportation to and from school
