Host an International High School Exchange Student (Auburn, AL)

About the role

SHARE! Your Heart & Home with a high school exchange student. Host families and adults are needed to host exchange students for a school year or semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and welcoming home environment for an international student.
• Attend the local high school with the student.
• Help the student adjust to life in the new country and culture.
• Ensure the student has access to medical care if needed.
• Support the student in their studies and extracurricular activities.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a stable home and address.
• Be able to speak English fluently.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Have health insurance that covers international travel.
• Be willing to provide a safe and welcoming environment for the student.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn about and respect different cultures.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to new situations.
• Good communication skills.
• Availability to host the student for a full school year or semester.

Skills

• Patience and understanding.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency procedures.
