Host an International High School Exchange Student (Jackson, MS)

About the role

SHARE! Your Heart & Home with a high school exchange student. Host families and adults are needed to host exchange students for a school year or semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and welcoming environment for an international student
• Attend the student’s local high school classes
• Help the student adjust to life in a new country and culture
• Ensure the student has access to healthcare and emergency support
• Manage the student’s personal expenses
• Participate in regular check-ins with the student and SHARE!

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Willing to commit to hosting for a full school year or semester
• Have a stable home and address
• Be able to communicate effectively in English
• Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Have health insurance that covers international travel

Qualifications

• Passion for international understanding and cultural exchange
• Open-mindedness and willingness to learn about different cultures
• Ability to provide a loving and supportive environment
• Good organizational skills
• Flexibility to adapt to a new schedule and routine
