Host an International High School Exchange Student (Chesterfield, M0)

About the role

SHARE! Your Heart & Home with a high school exchange student. Host families and adults are needed to host exchange students for a school year or semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and welcoming environment for an international student
• Attend the student’s local high school classes
• Help the student adjust to life in the new country
• Ensure the student has access to healthcare and emergency services
• Support the student’s academic and social development
• Manage the student’s personal expenses

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Willingness to provide a home and support for a student for one school year or semester
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Availability to host the student during school hours
• Willingness to participate in periodic training sessions

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn about different cultures
• Good health and ability to care for a guest
• Flexible schedule to accommodate the student’s needs
• Willingness to share living space with other family members if applicable
