Hospitalist Fellowship
About the role
Yale New Haven Health System offers a one‑year Hospital Medicine Fellowship at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, CT, providing training in academic medicine, quality improvement, hospital administration, and leadership, with a focus on hospital administration and leadership unlike any other Hospital Medicine Fellowship in the US. The program ensures 40% protected time for non‑clinical activities.
Fellows gain experience in hospital operations, finance, and leadership through meetings with senior leaders; lead a quality improvement project supported by a business proposal; complete formal courses in medical education, quality improvement, and leadership; participate in the Bridgeport Hospital Physician Leadership Academy and Yale’s faculty development program; receive individual coaching from the Institute for Excellent; take part in clinical teaching activities, including morning reports and student lectures; and engage in activities tailored to individual interests and professional goals.
