About the role

The Hospital President at St Luke's Sugar Land Hospital is responsible for the daily operations of the assigned hospital facility and its joint ventures. The role involves implementing key strategies, maintaining high patient experience scores, ensuring sustainability of operations, achieving exceptional employee engagement, and overseeing financial management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a patient-centered culture consistent with the hospital's mission, vision, and values.
  • Maintain high Patient Experience scores in alignment with CommonSpirit Health standards.
  • Sustainability of operations as measured by EBITDA margin percentage.
  • Achieve exceptional Employee Engagement scores in alignment with CommonSpirit Health standards.
  • Establish and maintain highly effective relations with the hospital medical staff.
  • Evaluate and improve operations to ensure appropriate outcomes and attainment of key performance metrics and goals.
  • Oversee financial management of assigned medical centers, including monitoring budgets, productivity measures, revenue and expense management, and other internal controls.
  • Recommend/oversee capital improvements such as upgrading medical facilities, including construction/renovation of structures and purchase of new equipment.
  • Partner with various Strategic Service Lines on growth and expansion initiatives.
  • Lead/implement strategic plans, programs, and projects to monitor, evaluate, integrate, and improve overall medical center operations and quality of care in line with healthcare reform mandates and new organizational/delivery models.
  • Engage in collaborative interactions with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to enhance the growth, visibility, and financial viability of the hospital.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health administration or related field.
  • Ten (10) years progressive executive leadership experience in an academic environment preferred.
  • Excellent clinical and business skills.
  • Breadth of knowledge of all areas of patient care.
