Hospital Medicine - RN Clinical Coordinator (Wichita)

Description of Position

The RN Clinical Coordinator provides dedicated support to the Medical Director and Hospitalist Physicians. This role is a non-supervisory and non-managerial clinical position, serving instead as a resource to the CarePoint Hospital Medicine service line at Wesley Medical Center and Wesley Woodlawn Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a critical liaison between physicians, the patient care team, and dispensing pharmacies to facilitate seamless communication and collaborative patient management.
• Carefully coordinate and schedule patient follow-up appointments.
• Provide support for essential administrative processes, including assisting with prior authorizations, coordinating discharge prescription processing, and facilitating death certificate completion.
• Aid physicians in the preparation of official patient documents, such as FMLA, short-term disability, and return-to-work forms.
• Systematically track, organize, and maintain accurate records of all new patient encounters.
• Apply robust clinical judgment and the nursing process to advance patient health, well-being, and safety in strict accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act and care standards.
• Maintain personal accountability, act as a professional role model, and uphold the highest ethical, legal, and professional nursing standards.
