Hospital Communications Representative/Telecom Dispatcher/PBX, UW Medicine Operator Services
About the role
The Hospital Communications Representative/Telecom Dispatcher/PBX position at UW Medicine Operator Services brings a friendly voice to connect callers to their destination. This role supports patient and family-centered care at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) and Harborview Medical Center (HMC).
Responsibilities
- Answer all incoming calls into the main telephone numbers for the medical centers
- Transfer external and internal calls
- Provide visitor information and general customer service reception
- Receive and dispatch all emergency communication calls including trauma codes, code blue, and other medical emergencies
- Paging services for patients, staff, and medical providers
- Monitor and respond to alarms
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- One year of experience as a Telephone Communications Operator, or equivalent
- Six months of additional qualifying experience may substitute for required education
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Computer skills, including competent keyboard abilities
Qualifications
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Pay Range: Minimum $21.63 hourly, Maximum $26.63 hourly
