About the role
Join the Horizontal Directional Drilling Team to support the construction and maintenance of advanced PON/fiber networks. This full‑time, year‑round position involves operating horizontal directional drills, supporting fiber splicing, installing and repairing fiber lines, and supporting outside plant infrastructure. The role requires physical activity, outdoor work in diverse weather conditions, and operating construction equipment such as trenchers and bucket trucks.
Responsibilities
- Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment.
- Restore and secure job sites after work is completed.
- Support fiber installation and repair activities, including splicing.
- Climb structures and work at heights as needed.
- Coordinate with project tools and team members to ensure timely completion.
Qualifications
- At least 6 months of experience in related fields or relevant certifications.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a Class A CDL.
- Physical ability to climb, lift, and perform outdoor work in diverse weather conditions.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Preferred: Experience with horizontal directional drilling and basic telecommunications knowledge.
- Strong organizational, teamwork, and communication skills.
Training
- Safety training specific to construction and fiber work.
- Class A CDL preparation and certification.
- Fiber optics handling and splicing techniques.
- Operation of drilling and related construction equipment.
