Horizontal Directional Driller - Fiber Construction
Role Overview
Join the Horizontal Directional Drilling Team to build and maintain advanced PON/fiber networks. Ideal for candidates experienced in horizontal directional drilling or locating, this full-time position involves outdoor, hands-on work installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing fiber infrastructure. You will operate equipment like trenchers, backhoes, and drill rigs, climb structures, and support fiber splicing activities.
Responsibilities
- Operate drilling equipment and locate systems
- Restore job sites
- Install and maintain fiber lines
- Support splicing and repairs
- Set outside plant infrastructure
- Support construction activities with tools and project markings
- Ensure safety and quality standards are met
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 6+ months experience in related fields
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain Class A CDL
- Physical ability to climb structures, lift up to 50 pounds, and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Experience with horizontal directional drilling and telecommunication products is preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills are essential
Training & Compensation
Includes safety, CDL, fiber optics, and equipment operation training. Pay ranges from $22.62 to $41.42/hour, with potential incentives, a sign-on bonus, and relocation assistance.
