Horizontal Directional Driller - Fiber Construction

Role Overview Join the Horizontal Directional Drilling Team to help build and maintain advanced PON/fiber networks. If you have experience with horizontal directional drilling or locating, this full-time, year-round position involves outdoor, hands-on work installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing fiber infrastructure. Responsibilities include operating drilling equipment, supporting fiber splicing, climbing structures, and setting outside plant components. Key Duties Operate horizontal directional drill or locate for the drillRestore job sites and support fiber splicing and repair activitiesInstall, maintain, and test buried and aerial fiber linesOperate construction equipment such as trenchers, plows, and excavatorsSupport outside plant infrastructure setup and repairsClimb poles and structures using bucket trucksSupport project coordination via dispatch applications Qualifications & Skills 6+ months experience in utility construction, customer service, or related fields, or relevant certification/military serviceAbility to obtain a Class A CDL (training provided if needed)Physical ability to climb, kneel, lift up to 50 pounds regularlyStrong attention to safety, detail, and teamwork skillsBasic understanding of telecom products/services; experience in directional drilling preferredWillingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and adapt to flexible shifts Training & Environment Training includes CDL, safety, pole climbing, bucket truck operation, fiber splicing, and construction equipment use.
