About the role

New Haven teachers are offered a variety of leadership development opportunities including but not limited to curriculum facilitator, teacher facilitator and the Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in professional development opportunities
  • Support students' academic and social-emotional growth
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at preparing students for college, career, and life

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain the certification requirements as established by Connecticut State Statutes (026 (History & Social Studies 7-12) or comparable)
  • Must have a valid Connecticut teaching certificate

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of history and social studies curricula
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with differentiated instruction

Skills

  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Ability to adapt to diverse learning styles
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices

Pay

Salary contingent on degree and years of experience: 26-27 School Year: $53,220 - $108,047
