Middle School History/Social Studies Teacher
About the role
As a Middle School History/Social Studies Teacher at Capital Preparatory Schools, you will be responsible for fostering a safe and engaging learning environment that supports the social justice model and ensures every graduate moves on to attend college. You will be part of a team dedicated to enhancing student achievement through individualized instruction and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe, effective, student-centered learning environment that fosters student curiosity.
- Motivate students to put forth their best efforts in academics, athletics, activities, and personal conduct.
- Support students to recognize their full potential in all areas of human development.
- Build a bridge of communication and involvement with parents, families, and community leaders.
- Analyze data and use it to inform and drive instruction.

- Three years of teaching experience (preferred).

Skills
- Bachelor’s degree, Graduate degree preferred; NYS certification preferred, commitment to achieve certification required.
Pay
Competitive salaries for first-year Illuminators (teachers), ranging from $62,784 for non-certified bachelor's degree holders to $79,200 for those with a master's degree and certification. Salary is commensurate with years of lead teaching experience, education level and certification status.
Schedule
This is a full-time, full-year exempt position.
