HIM Analyst

Job Specific Competencies

• Conducts Physician deficiency reanalysis review.
• Reviews timely dictation of operative reports on a daily basis.
• Generates statistics for incomplete/delinquent medical records.
• Sends notifications to physicians regarding record completion.
• Follows up on with physicians on outstanding record completion issues.
• Conducts Physician training on the EMR and record completion.
• Manages mail for the ROI Vendor.
• Processes all release of information requests for the Business Office.
• Counsels record review under the supervision of the HIM Supervisor.
• Handles incoming calls.
• Processes requests for release of information for patients and physicians when applicable.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a minimum of one-year experience working in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
• Must have working knowledge of computer database applications.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
• Must demonstrate attention to detail, and ability to problem-solve.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
