About the role
The Health Information Management (HIM) Analyst position is 100% on-site and does not involve being a data analyst or system analyst.
Essential Functions of the Role
- Maintains and assigns medical record deficiencies to the appropriate provider for completion.
- Manages medical record suspension and ensures chart completion for coding.
- Processes legal birth certificates in accordance with state laws and hospital policy.
- Retrieves, scans, indexes, and performs quality control on medical records using the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Ensures compliance with policies and regulations during the release of information.
- Investigates and resolves documentation issues on various accounts.
- Supports proxy processing to meet BSW policy and regulatory requirements.
- Assists physicians in completing legal death certificates in line with state laws and hospital policy.
- Provides cross-training and backup coverage for all HIM Technician functions.

Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 2 years of healthcare experience, though not required.
