HIM Analyst (On-Site)

About the role

The Health Information Management (HIM) Analyst position is a Medical Records role requiring 100% on-site attendance. Hybrid and remote work arrangements are not available.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and assigns medical record deficiencies to providers for completion.
• Completes medical record suspensions and monitors chart completion for coding.
• Processes legal birth certificates according to state laws and hospital policy.
• Retrieves, scans, indexes, and performs quality control on medical records using the EHR.
• Ensures compliance with policies and regulations during release of information.
• Investigates and resolves documentation issues on various accounts.
• Performs proxy processing to meet BSW policy and regulatory standards.
• Assists physicians in completing legal death certificates according to state laws and hospital policy.
• Cross-trains and provides backup coverage for all HIM Technician duties.

Requirements

• Proficient computer and work processing skills.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong customer service skills, including working with physicians, nurses, and patients.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent.
• Two years of healthcare experience preferred.
