Job Summary

To improve student achievement by supporting the mission, communication, tasks, and events of McMinnville High School and the Admin Office and to assist in providing a safe, healthy educational environment for students and performing other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

  • Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment.
  • Welcome and direct those who access the admin office(in person, on the phone, via email, or social media) and help answer questions and connect them with the resources they need.
  • Prioritize tasks according to deadlines and unexpected occurrences.
  • Affords assistance in coordinating Admin Office events.
  • Communicates, verbally or in writing, on behalf of the Admin Office.
  • Works under the supervision of the principal or designee.
  • Supports students in developing positive interpersonal relationships with peers and adults.
  • Promotes safety of the students through the application of the district's student management and safety guidelines.
  • Makes sure individual students are in the proper location and are not in dangerous or unsafe situations.
  • Responsible for being familiar with the school/district policies and procedures which govern the work.
  • Ensures prompt and regular attendance.

Other Job Functions

  • May be asked to utilize bilingual skills if applicable to translate and interpret in the designated language(s) to and from English.
  • Maintains office equipment, materials, and students' files, records, etc. for the purpose of ensuring availability of items as may be required.
  • Performs record keeping and basic clerical functions, scheduling, copying, etc. for the purpose of supporting staff.
  • Affords assistance to other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
  • Convenes with teachers, parents, and/or appropriate community agency personnel.
  • Exercises discretion and assures protection of student confidentiality consistent with the direction and guidance of staff, administrators, and school/district policies and procedures.
  • Participates in various meetings and professional development activities for the purpose of sharing information and/or improving one's skills/knowledge.
  • Provides translation for meetings as requested by the Supervisor.
  • Affords assistance with the transition of students, including supervision of students.

Essential Job Requirements - Qualifications

  • Fluent verbal and written skills in Spanish and English are preferred.
  • Education Required: Completed associates or higher degree, completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (72 college quarter hours or more) or met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Experience Preferred: Prior job-related experience, paid or volunteer, with school-age children.
  • Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: Oregon Department of Education Fingerprint Clearance.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, staff, and parents.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to walk; sit, and use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Regularity and punctuality are required.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Follows all District policies, work procedures, and reasonable requests by proper authority.
  • Maintains the integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or District patrons.

Pay

Salary Range: $18.91 - $25.35 *Please note these rates reflect the 2025-2026 school year and will be updated upon adoption of the classified agreement.

Schedule

11 months.
