About the role
The Interventionist position at K12, a Stride Company, is focused on supporting the academic growth of "At-Risk" students through personalized and small group sessions. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree and Colorado High School ELA Teaching Certification.
Responsibilities
- Modifies and adapts the K12 curriculum to meet the unique needs of each student
- Collaborates with general education teachers to achieve targeted student goals
- Educates parents on various instructional strategies
- Ensures the implementation of the Response to Intervention (RTI) instructional system to increase student achievement
- Collects and maintains all RTI data, including lists of eligible students and intervention plans
- Serves as a daily resource to school administrators, school leadership teams, and other stakeholders regarding RTI issues
- Collaborates with homeroom teachers, advisors, counselors, and additional district personnel to coordinate and track Tier 2 interventions
- Supports teachers in documenting student progress and facilitates eligibility for special education
- Provides ongoing training and support to school/district staff regarding RTI and data collection procedures
- Travels up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Colorado High School ELA Teaching Certification
- Residency requirement: Must reside in Colorado
- Remote position, strongly prefers candidates residing in Colorado
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4)
- Experience working with proposed age group
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
- Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment
- Experience with online learning platforms
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
Skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data
- Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers
Benefits
This position is exempt (salary) with a range of $48,752.00 - $73,128.00. The company offers a robust benefits package that includes health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off. The work environment is virtual with some required travel for professional development and for testing.
