Heavy Rental Maintenance Manager
About the Role
The Heavy Rental Maintenance Manager leads the growth and development of Rental Fleet On and Off Yard repair and maintenance capabilities. This role maximizes Heavy Rental fleet rental revenue by ensuring equipment readiness, delivering a positive customer repair experience, and minimizing maintenance and repair expenses. The Manager hires, trains, and leads Rental Fleet Supervisors and designs processes for an exceptional Off Yard customer repair experience through collaboration, organizational structure, and customer interaction.

Responsibilities
- Model, promote, reinforce, and reward the use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools to align with the company’s Vision, Values, and Mission
- Hire, develop, evaluate, and promote team members to ensure productivity and Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
- Develop leaders’ and subordinates’ technical and leadership skills
- Ensure rental fleet maintenance and repair activities meet company objectives for costs and customer experience
- Collaborate with internal and external resources to create a responsive Off Yard Maintenance and Repair customer experience
- Regularly visit branches to coach teams and achieve Heavy Rental Fleet goals
- Ensure team commitment to safety policies, procedures, and standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field preferred
- Eight or more years of job-related experience
- Three or more years of experience managing staff
- Knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, and production methods
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with customers, vendors, staff, and executives
- Judgment and decision-making skills to evaluate costs, benefits, and appropriate actions
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to listen, understand, and communicate information effectively
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position manages Rental Fleet Maintenance Supervisors and their teams, including:
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
- Developing repair processes and coaching team members
- Appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems
Travel
20% travel with overnight stays required. A valid driver’s license is necessary.
Physical Requirements
- Extended periods in an upright position, with frequent walking, climbing, and reaching
- Frequent communication with others to exchange accurate information
- Occasional movement of materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Constant movement and use of limbs, requiring manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
- Ascending/descending ladders and equipment using both hands and feet
- Routine reaction to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions
- Visual inspection of work
Work Environment
- Regular indoor work around moving mechanical parts
- Possible exposure to weather extremes (heat, cold, humidity, inclement weather) when working outdoors
- Loud noise levels at times
- Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
- Required use of common protective or safety equipment (PPE)
- Work in cramped spaces and/or high places
- Fast-paced environment with unscheduled interruptions
