About the Role
A hands-on Mechanic responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, particularly ready-mix trucks. The position involves performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and ensuring equipment safety and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and repair machinery and systems according to specifications
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults
- Operate service vehicles
- Perform daily maintenance
- Weld and fabricate metal parts
- Procure parts
- Provide on-site support
- Mentor team members
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Follow safety policies
Requirements
- Minimum one year of truck mechanic experience
- Proficiency with power tools, welders, and safety devices
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures and software (preferred: Allison transmissions, ESA software)
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to work collaboratively
- High school diploma (asset)
- Experience with concrete mixers and haul trucks (preferred)
- Personal tools up to ¾-inch drive
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Adherence to safety standards
- Background checks and drug testing required
Work Environment
- Field-based role at a plant, involving outdoor work with varied weather
- Exposure to loud noises, machinery, and chemicals
- Use of PPE
- Occasional travel
