Heavy Duty Mechanics - Second Shift

About the Role

A hands-on Mechanic responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, particularly ready-mix trucks. The position involves performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and ensuring equipment safety and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, and repair machinery and systems according to specifications
  • Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults
  • Operate service vehicles
  • Perform daily maintenance
  • Weld and fabricate metal parts
  • Procure parts
  • Provide on-site support
  • Mentor team members
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Follow safety policies

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of truck mechanic experience
  • Proficiency with power tools, welders, and safety devices
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures and software (preferred: Allison transmissions, ESA software)
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • High school diploma (asset)
  • Experience with concrete mixers and haul trucks (preferred)
  • Personal tools up to ¾-inch drive
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Adherence to safety standards
  • Background checks and drug testing required

Work Environment

  • Field-based role at a plant, involving outdoor work with varied weather
  • Exposure to loud noises, machinery, and chemicals
  • Use of PPE
  • Occasional travel
