HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. This is a full-time, 1st shift role located at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Mississippi. Relocation assistance is not available.
About the role
Overhauls and repairs various types of heavy duty mobile equipment, such as bulldozers, cranes, locomotives, tractors, graders, powershovels, and diesel-powered trucks, buses, and materials-handling equipment.
- Disassembles diesel or gasoline engines as necessary; inspects, repairs, and replaces parts such as injection valves, cylinder heads, and crankshafts.
- Repairs clutches, transmission systems, differentials, air compressors, pumps, filter units, superchargers, starting engines, timers, generators, governors, reduction gears, hydraulic couplings, breaking systems, steering systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, and similar units.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience diagnosing and repairing all types of gasoline and diesel-related systems and engines.

- 5 years of experience diagnosing and repairing all types of gasoline and diesel-related systems and engines.
