About the role
The post is full time – 36 hours. You will work for The Highland Council with Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
Responsibilities
- Identify health needs as early as possible and improve health and wellbeing by promoting health, preventing ill health and reducing inequalities.
- Visit families in their own homes and provide health advice and support to empower parents to care for their children.
- Work based on the Universal Health Visiting Pathway underpinned by GIRFEC and the National Practice Model.
- Engage with families to discover and build on their strengths.
- Deal with difficult cases and manage stress and challenges.
- Manage time and organise tasks effectively.
Requirements
- Registered nurse or midwife at degree level or equivalent.
- Post-registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing and be registered on Part 3 of the NMC register.
- Educated to Masters level in a relevant nursing area, or demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge gained through completion of NES modules on Assessment, Leadership, and Critical Thinking.
Qualifications & Knowledge
Qualified in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing and have completed the necessary registration process.

Pay
Salary Scale: £52,769 - £61,377 per annum
