About the role

NHS Fife invites applications for a Health Visitor position. The successful candidate will be a NMC Registrant with a postgraduate diploma in Person Centred Practice and/or equivalent recognized academic qualifications as a Health Visitor. They will be motivated to prioritize the safety of children, improve health and wellbeing outcomes for families in Fife, and deliver a person-centered approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an accessible, high-quality, culturally sensitive, and effective Health Visiting Service to children and families in Fife.
  • Work in partnership with Social Work teams, Education, health services, other partner agencies, and voluntary services.
  • Ensure the safety, health, and wellbeing of children and families in Fife by maintaining clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Organize and manage caseloads to ensure workload is completed in a timely manner.
  • Respond to, report, and escalate Child Protection concerns with minimal delay to safeguard children and families.
  • Keep accurate records, collect data, update child health records, and submit reports for child wellbeing meetings, child protection, and children's hearings.
  • Show excellent communication and interpersonal skills, embrace skill mix team working, and delegate work as needed while maintaining overall responsibility for the caseload.

Requirements

  • Be a NMC Registrant and hold a recognized postgraduate academic qualification as a Health Visitor.
  • Have a proven track record of continuous professional development and innovative practice.
  • Have the ability and willingness to travel throughout the area to deliver services to children and families in their homes.
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team and as an autonomous practitioner, using clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be passionate and committed to working in partnership with children and families with complex health and social issues.

Qualifications
