About the role
This position plans, organizes, and implements the non-nursing functions of assigned unit(s) to facilitate workflow, enhance unit productivity, and provide excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff. The role promotes efficient unit function and indirect resident care. Performs clerical and reception duties; requisition supplies, equipment, and services as directed; and other duties as assigned. Will need to stock supplies at times.
Preferred candidates will have experience or training in a hospital or clinic setting as a health unit coordinator, medical secretary, or medical receptionist.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have completion of a health unit coordinator program or medical secretary program. If no formal education, we will require 1 year of experience or training in a hospital or clinic setting as a health unit coordinator, medical secretary, or medical receptionist. No certification or licensure is required.

Schedule
This is a part-time position with an FTE of 0.45. Shift rotation is day rotation (07:00 to 19:30) with every other weekend and holiday work required. No call obligation. This position is part of the SMMC USWA (SMUMS) union.
Pay
Compensation range: $18.69 - $27.85 per hour.
