Fives Landis Corp – Gardner Abrasives is actively seeking a Health & Safety Environmental Engineer to join its team in South Beloit, Illinois. About the role
As a Health & Safety Environmental Engineer (HSE), you will play a key role in promoting a culture of health and safety while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will join the Health & Safety team at the South Beloit facility, located near Beloit, WI, and Rockford, IL.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain an effective incident investigation process to identify root causes and formulate corrective actions.
- Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solutions for addressing safety and environmental issues.
- Coordinate regulatory assessments to ensure compliance with legal requirements and maintain accurate records.
- Provide safety compliance training to all employees, including OSHA Log policies and procedures.
- Foster positive and collaborative relationships with employees to promote a culture of health and safety.
- Follow established procedures and rules to enhance workplace safety.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of progressive experience in health and safety, environmental, quality, or equivalent practical experience.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and standards.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and ACAD.
- Must be a U.S. citizen; no sponsorship is offered.

Pay
Salary range: $60,000 – $80,000 (offer determined by experience).
