Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Technician
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Work as instructed by the Director of Safety/HR.
- Evaluates potential injuries from accidents.
- Coincide activities with other emergency agencies (Fire, EMS, Police etc.) in case of emergency medical situations.
- Aid in the implementation of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs to eliminate or reduce occupational injuries, illnesses, and financial losses.
- Aid in the investigation of near misses and incidents.
- Hosts daily safety meetings with crews and conducts daily worksite visits.
- Works towards ensuring the facility maintains compliance according to approved facility permits and plans.
- Compiles HSE performance reports for leadership and projects.
- Ensure all HSE training and medical testing is completed for employees and contractors.
Education: HS Diploma Required. B.S. Occupational Health and Safety preferred but not limited to. EMT training is preferred.
Experience: 2 yrs. experience in occupational Health and Safety with Environmental experience. Medical Training.
Training: Working knowledge of hazard identification and OSHA regulations and Emergency Medical Technician training preferred. Company specific training provided.
Specific Knowledge/Skills: Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to HSE in a metal production mill type setting. Medical responder training required, advanced medical training a plus. Ability to conduct training in a group setting. Familiar with Microsoft systems.
