About the role
Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a Health Promotion Operations Manager to lead the operational backbone of our Health Promotion service. In this role, you will drive operational planning, resource management, quality improvement, performance monitoring, and reporting to ensure our programs are effective, sustainable, and achieve measurable outcomes for the people of Western Sydney.
You will work closely with the Director of Health Promotion to develop the structures, systems, and processes that support the delivery of health promotion programs. Key responsibilities include overseeing communications, partnerships and engagement, planning and evaluation, and team operations to ensure evidence-informed, high-quality work aligned with local and state priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead operational planning, resource management, and quality improvement for health promotion programs.
- Oversee performance monitoring and reporting to ensure measurable population health outcomes.
- Develop and implement systems and processes that support program delivery across the service.
- Manage communications, partnerships, and engagement to align programs with local and state priorities.
- Support teams in delivering evidence-informed, high-quality health promotion initiatives.
- Analyze and work within a range of systems, sectors, and agencies to implement change.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve sustainable health goals.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, public health, management, or a related discipline, and/or significant experience in one or more of these fields.
- Demonstrated leadership in population health strategic planning and program delivery, including application of public health/health promotion practice, legislative frameworks, research, evaluation, and quality improvement.
- High-level oral and written communication skills, including presentation, coaching, facilitation, and experience with various writing styles (reports, research, briefs, media, and translating information for health promotion).
- Experience managing small to medium-sized professional teams, including setting organizational and personal goals, and implementing performance development programs.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships both internally and externally, and negotiate effectively to achieve health goals.
- Working knowledge of the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) community context and capacity to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment, particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally & Linguistically Diverse communities.
- Current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence.

Pay
$69.35 - $78.79 per hour
