Health Promotion Officer

About the role

BreastScreen NSW is a vital part of the Cancer Institute NSW, delivering high-quality breast cancer screening and early detection services across New South Wales. This role is part of the BreastScreen SESI service, which provides approximately 62,000 free screening mammograms annually for women 40 years and over.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, implement, manage, monitor and evaluate health promotion projects and activities.
• Coordinate and support the delivery of health promotion activities, education sessions, and community initiatives.
• Manage multiple projects/activities and focus populations simultaneously.
• Lead health promotion and department administrative tasks, including mobile van coordination, event planning and management, and development and management of key reports and department frameworks.
• Support staff training and ensure the successful delivery of health promotion activities.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in health promotion and project management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of health promotion principles and strategies.

Qualifications

While not strictly necessary, relevant qualifications or experience in health promotion, public health, or a related field would be advantageous.

Pay

$34.09 - $49.29 per hour plus superannuation.

Schedule

Full-time, 32 hours per week.
